Snow Joke

Well we’re a few days in, and we’re still in the midst of a coloured weather code. It’s either yellow and orange now – they’re issuing them so regularly it’s difficult to keep up.

I’ve just snapped some washing off the line (have you ever picked up a frozen t-shirt – they’re surprisingly heavy) and thought it might be nice to show you some of the weekend’s highlights.

Íf you’ve worked out how to look my Twitter feed you’ll have seen how excited we were on Saturday to get out of the house:

…and our continued disbelief as to the amount of snow we were having here:

And now we’re back to work. The temperature hasn’t got much above -8 degrees all day and COLD reality is kicking in a bit. There is still a heck of a lot of snow, but the SKAT boys reconnected us to the internet so that was a relief. We are wearing all our clothes, ripping through firewood just as fast as JJ is siliconing shut any obvious gaps in the wooden ceiling and using our two remaining cats as furry hot water bottles.

The word on the street is that there won’t be much change in conditions before Friday…so we’ll just hang on in there!

What a lot of weather

Oh you poor things! We do feel for you. Bulgaria made the news last night. Only the Channel five headlines, but still…. Quite a few people have died across eastern Europe. We have had dire warnings of what’s to come but you can’t believe it half the time. Famous last words! Keep warm or busy, whichever works for you! Love P&B. Xxx
